About Us

A physical therapist and a nutritionist, united in the same mission

We believe aging in place shouldn't be left to guesswork. Advocates on Aging pairs clinical expertise with practical, everyday guidance — so families feel prepared, and clinicians feel supported.

Founder

Stephen Stashevsky, PT, DPT, CEEAA

Stephen is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with nearly a decade of experience across home health, inpatient, and outpatient settings, with a particular focus on the geriatric population and aging in place. He has served as a Director of Rehabilitation overseeing therapy operations in an assisted living and memory care setting, and as an Assistant Professor in Indiana University's Doctoral Physical Therapy program, where he co-developed a course on Physical Therapy and Aging Practice Patterns — Geriatrics. He currently also serves as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech Community College, teaching anatomy and physiology.

Across multiple home health agencies, Stephen has worked as a case-managing physical therapist, taught OASIS guidelines to fellow clinicians, conducted quality assessments of clinical documentation, and helped start up a home health department. That combination — hands-on clinical care plus teaching and mentorship — is the foundation for Advocates on Aging's consultation, training, and mentorship services.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Holistic Nutrition from Purdue Global and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Dietetics at Ball State University.

Leslie's guidance is general wellness and holistic nutrition education. It is not medical nutrition therapy and is not a substitute for care from a Registered Dietitian or physician.
